ATHENS — By the numbers, Georgia has quite a fight lined up for Saturday. The Bulldogs face a team sitting second in its conference. The opponent has already locked up its fifth straight winning season and its sixth in the last seven years. The team has also stood out nationally and leads the country in rushing yards per game (378.9) and sits second in time of possession (34 minutes per game).

Teammates react to Keith Marshall’s decision to leave early

ATHENS — Georgia head coach Mark Richt announced on Tuesday that Keith Marshall would not seek a medical redshirt and will leave the Bulldogs after the 2015 season. Some people missed Richt’s remarks, including Marshall’s roommate, senior kicker Marshall Morgan.

Georgia shares familiar faces with Auburn

ATHENS — Saturday’s matchup between Georgia and Auburn has plenty of people with ties to both schools. The famous example from the rivalry’s history is former Auburn player Vince Dooley coaching at Georgia and former Georgia player Pat Dye coaching at Auburn, but this year’s matchup has a number of similar instances.

Richt on unhappy fans: ‘I don’t blame them’

ATHENS — Mark Richt doesn’t live in a bubble. The longtime Georgia head coach is aware of the calls for his firing after the Bulldogs dropped to 5-3 on the season with a 27-3 loss to Florida on Saturday. The defeat to the Gators meant Georgia had lost three of its last four games and has stretched its touchdown drought to two consecutive games.
