About

Writing has been a passion and a hobby for me going back to my childhood in Jasper, Georgia.

MeI first started writing while at Pickens High School as a sports intern at FetchYourNews.com, an online newspaper in Ellijay, Georgia. I spent three years with FetchYourNews covering mostly Pickens County athletics. I also wrote a handful of business and political articles along the way.

After enrolling in the University of North Georgia, I spent one semester as a sports writer for the school’s newspaper The Vanguard. My transfer to the University of Georgia allowed me to begin work with the school’s paper The Red & Black, where I worked as a staff writer with the responsibility of covering Georgia Bulldogs softball.

In Fall 2015, I covered Georgia Bulldogs football for Dawgs247 as well as The Macon TelegraphI  also covered the Georgia men’s basketball team with The R&B before ultimately being named the student paper’s sports editor for spring 2016. As sports editor, I was able to oversee the weekly paper publication of the paper, enhance my editing skills while also writing the occasional story.

Following my semester stint as sports editor, I received a summer internship with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution through the Atlanta Press Club. During my stint with the AJC, I was the beat reporter covering the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream. I also wrote stories about the NBA, MLB, professional tennis, college football and the Olympics.

In Fall 2016, I am worked with The Macon Telegraph covering Georgia football. I graduated from UGA in December 2016 and began working full-time with The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer as the LE’s preps sports reporter in January 2017.

After 20 months in Columbus, I became the preps sports writer for The Opelika-Auburn News in August 2018. I remained in that position for two years before being promoted to the paper’s Auburn beat writer.

I covered AU athletics for roughly a year and a half before returning to my home state and covering the University of Georgia for Dawgs247.

Besides the aforementioned publications, I have also written pieces for Swarm247.com, UNGAthletics.com, The Pickens County Progress, The Athens Banner-Herald and Isportsweb.com.
